President issues decree to rebuild areas recently devastated by war, enabling return of displaced people

      Access to education restored to half a million students in newly liberated northeastern Syria

        6 March 2026.  With the rehabilitation of hundreds of schools in the Raqqa and Deir Ezzor provinces, recently transferred to state control, children are being reintegrated into Syrian society.         In move to modernize telecommunications, Syria launches international tender offer for new mobile operator

          4 March 2026.  In the goal of improving nationwide digital coverage, especially in rural areas emerging from years of conflict, Syria announced a tender offer for a 20-year mobile license, aiming to attract global investors in supporting long-term digital development.Read more at:  SANA

            Syria adopts desalination to combat drought and secure steady source of water

              9 February 2026.  Syria signed an agreement with a consortium of Saudi companies to desalinate seawater and transport it to southern regions hit by severe drought, guaranteeing a steady water supply for drinking and agriculture.               Saudi Arabia to invest $ billions in strategic deals for Syria’s recovery

                7 February 2026.  Syria and Saudi Arabia signed major joint economic agreements in air transport, water desalination, and telecommunications, in addition to 45 other development projects.                   3 February 2026.  A €35 million German funded agreement between Syria’s Health Ministry and UNDP will restore and equip five major hospitals in areas recovering from conflict, part of the government’s efforts to rehabilitate healthcare.                               8 January 2026.  A largescale effort is underway to clear massive amounts of rubble from war-ravaged towns and cities and recycle it into clean building materials.                                 Aga Khan Development Network expands commitment to the Syrian people
