Meeting in Berlin reflects Syria’s unique relationship with Germany, plus growing cooperation between Syria and Europe

    31 March 2026.  Thanking Germany for hosting many thousands of Syrians during the revolution, President Al-Sharaa and Chancellor Merz began talks on a ‘circular migration framework,’ enabling skilled Syrian professionals in Germany to help rebuild Syria while maintaining ties to Germany.
