President oversees emergency flood response and announces new reconstruction in eastern Syria

    30 May 2026.  President al-Sharaa arrived in Deir Ezzor with a large delegation of ministers to oversee response efforts to the Euphrates flood and announce new reconstruction projects.     Ancient site of prized mosaics from Roman and Byzantine eras now under restoration

      26 May 2026.  Conservation teams are working to preserve Syria’s archaeological heritage of mosaic floors and wall panels dating from the 2nd-6th centuries AD. Despite severe damage from bombings during the civil war, streams of visitors from Syria and abroad affirm the site’s cultural importance.Read more at: SANA

      Saudi Arabia pledges $1.5 billion under “Syria Without Camps” initiative

        25 May 2026.  Saudi Arabia’s new pledge to Syria of $1.5 billion, a spike from previous annual funding, is earmarked for the government’s plan to move displaced families from camps to their home areas by the end of 2027.         Syria makes commitment to global health cooperation at World Health Assembly

          Emergency Ministry restores infrastructure in war-damaged areas, reviving farmland and helping civilians return home

            16 May 2026.  Syria’s Emergency Ministry has filled and levelled more than 900 kilometres of war era trenches and berms in Idlib province.             Japan supports recovery of 20 Syrian municipalities

              12 May 2026.  UN-Habitat and Japan announced a project to improve service delivery and urban governance affecting some 870,000 people in 20 municipalities across 7 provinces.               Syrian and UAE officials discuss massive development projects amid growing Gulf interest in Syria

                8 May 2026.  Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa met an Emirati delegation to discuss development plans for projects in Damascus and Latakia, together valued at over $50 billion, including housing, hotels, and roads.                   Young entrepreneurs encouraged to help transform Syria’s challenges into opportunities

                    26 April 2026.  Business leaders came together with young innovators to lend support to youth-led initiatives at a national conference.                     Germany sponsors conference on engaging diaspora Syrians in Syria’s recovery

                      23 April 2026.  At a conference organized by New Beginning for Syria, a program of the German government, Syria’s minister for Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Qabwat, called Syrians in the diaspora “genuine wealth.” She urged the deeper collaboration of Syrian expatriates in Germany in rebuilding Syria.Read more at:  LEVANT 24

                      White Helmets shift from emergency rescues to helping Syria recover from wreckage of war

                        14 April 2026.  Recognized for their heroism and self-sacrifice in Syria’s war, voluntarily rescuing people from the rubble of bombings, their role expanded to meet other emergencies. Now, as part of the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management in June 2025, they are helping rebuild the country.Read more at: SANA

                        Syria and Türkiye announce new phase of cooperation

                          9 April 2026.  Calling Turkey a reliable ally and partner in Syria’s reconstruction, Minister al-Shaibani cited shared security and strategic goals, one of which is the Four Seas Project—a planned energy corridor formed by Syria and Turkey between the Arabian Gulf and the Caspian, Mediterranean, and Black seas.Read more at:  SANA
