    President praises the “bright image of the free Syrian”

      30 September 2025.  Expressing deep gratitude to the Syrian-American community for their warm welcome in New York, President al-Sharaa praised their “deep-rooted belonging to their homeland and firm belief in the duty to revive it.” He lauded their loyalty, values, and pride, stating, “You have proven that wherever Syrians reside, they remain loyal to their roots.” He said that Syria would never forget their “noble stance,” reflecting their authentic character and patriotism.Read more at:  SANA

      Al-Shaibani stresses uniqueness of Syria’s path of transformation

        29 September 2025.  In a wide-ranging interview with Fareed Zakaria, American journalist and commentator, Foreign Minister al-Shaibani described Syria’s post-liberation era as one of rebuilding, reconciliation, and efforts to achieve peace—nationally and regionally. He described Syria as a free nation emerging from 60 years of oppression, preparing for parliamentary elections leading to a permanent constitution. “The law approved by the Syrian people is what will govern Syria,” he said.Read more at:  SANA

        Syria Returns to global stage with UN address and diplomatic breakthroughs

          28 September 2025.  In a historic speech to the UN General Assembly, the first by a Syrian head of state since 1967, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa declared: “Here is Syria today, returning to its worthy position among the nations of the world.” He acknowledged Arab, Islamic, US, and EU allies for their support in Syria’s rebuilding, and later held meetings with high officials of several nations including Ukraine, with which diplomatic ties were restored.Read more at: LEVANT24

          Al-Shaibani raises flag over Washington embassy, declaring “Syria is returning”

            20 September 2025.  Expatriates cheered as Syria’s Foreign Minister raised the nation’s banner over its embassy for the first time in 25 years. His Washington visit marked a diplomatic milestone, as he met with US officials and lawmakers to discuss Syrian-American relations, Syrian-Israel relations, and regional security and stability.             Plans for Suwayda’s security announced in trilateral diplomacy

              16 September 2025.  Syria, Jordan, and the United States announced plans to consolidate the July ceasefire in Suwayda and resolve the conflict that claimed over 250 lives. A list of resolutions comprising the joint initiative includes: continuing humanitarian aid and medical support, working to return 160,000 displaced people, holding accountable all who attacked civilians, and launching a reconciliation process.               President affirms territorial sovereignty and independence as Syria rebuilds its economy

                13 September 2025.  In a wide-ranging interview, president al-Sharaa stressed the need for calm relations with all nations as Syria recovers. Emphasizing the primacy of the people’s safety and well-being, he explained that a stable economy involves more than trade and investment. It requires reforming the judicial and educational systems, developing human resources, and providing energy, services, roads, communications, and open relations with neighboring countries, all of which are underway.Read more at:  SANA

                Syria rejoins world body after six decades

                  26 August 2025.  President Ahmad al-Sharaa will be the first Syrian head of state in nearly 60 years to speak to the world assembly, marking Syria’s historic re-entry into global diplomacy. The Foreign Ministry called the UN’s invitation a major sign of the readjustment of positions on Syria, an acknowledgment of the transformation taking place.                   US lifts all economic sanctions on Syria marking shift in relations

                    26 August 2025.  American and Syrian officials met in Damascus on the announcement of the full removal of US economic sanctions. Discussions focused on regional security, trade, and humanitarian conditions, along with ways to deepen dialogue and cooperation.                     Foreign investments provide massive injection for Syria’s recovery

                      6 August 2025.  The formal lifting of US sanctions paved the way for signing investment agreements valued at $14 billion, spread among 12 strategic areas including infrastructure, transportation, and real estate. The head of the Syrian Investment Authority, Talal al-Hilali, called the agreements a ‘turning-point’ for Syria’s future.                       France and the US stand united with Syria at critical time

                        25 July 2025.  At a pivotal meeting in Paris following the ceasefire in Suweyda, France and the US reaffirmed their shared commitment to guaranteeing a unified, stable, and sovereign Syria. Key agreements included accelerating the political transition, combating terrorism, fostering national reconciliation, and promoting accountability of combatants.                         President announces ceasefire, pledging to protect all minorities and the rule of law

                          19 July 2025.  The Syrian president called Suwayda’s violence “a dangerous turning point,” stating the clashes “nearly spiralled out of control,” and crediting the state’s intervention for calming tensions. He blamed Israel for escalating the crisis and praised the US, along with Turkey, Jordan and neighbouring countries, for brokering the ceasefire. Affirming that Suwayda “remains an integral part of the Syrian state,” he added, “the Druze community forms a fundamental pillar of Syria’s national fabric.”Read more at: ENAB BALADI

                          Syria and allies agree on steps to implement the ceasefire

                            19 July 2025.  Immediately following the ceasefire announcement, tri-partite talks were held in Amman, Jordon to consolidate the agreement. The foreign ministers of Syria and Jordan, along with the US special envoy, agreed on operational steps to prevent more bloodshed. The US and Jordan pledged solidarity with Syria and their full support for its unity, stability, and sovereignty.                             US-Syria Business Council seeks to build economic bridges and foster shared prosperity

                              24 June 2025. The newly established US-Syria Business Council aims to boost economic ties following the lifting of U.S. sanctions. It will serve as a gateway for US companies and banks to invest in Syria, and for Syrians living outside the country to contribute their business and technological expertise to key sectors such as agriculture, energy, tech, and infrastructure.                               US diplomat underscores power of hope in the face of harsh reality

                                11 June 2025. Ambassador Barrack praises Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa for his leadership of Syria’s reconstruction, saying the government is handling the situation “in the best way possible.”  He stated that by lifting sanctions, the US hopes to remove obstacles to Syria’s economic recovery and that it seeks transparency, not control. “A drop of hope may be more powerful than a tank full of a bad reality,” the ambassador said.Read more at: SANA

                                Syrian President expected to address the UN and meet with US officials in September

                                  4 June 2025. Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa is set to visit the US in September, delivering a speech at the UN General Assembly—the first by a Syrian leader in six decades.                                   A pivotal shift in US engagement with Syria

                                    3 June 2025. US Ambassador to Türkiye and Special Envoy for Syria, Thomas Barrack, announced the closing of most US military bases in Syria as well as Washington’s ongoing commitment to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the independent Kurdish-led military coalition in northeast Syria that has been allied with the US against IS.                                     Syria signs a $7 billion deal to double its electricity supply

                                      29 May 2025. The Syria Power Revival Initiative, a multi-national consortium of companies from Qatar, Turkey, and the US, aims to double the energy supply in a nation facing devastating shortages.
