Former Kurdish-led SDF fighters are being integrated into Syria’s army 

    3 May 2026.  Syrian authorities report integrating four SDF brigades into the national army under a January 2026 agreement between Damascus and SDF forces, which outlined phases for reintegrating northeastern Syria after years of autonomous administration.     Social cohesion is prioritized in building foundations of the New Syria

      17 April 2026.  At a global diplomacy event in Antalya, Turkey, with 150 countries represented, Social Affairs Minister Kabawat described Syria’s priorities as building unity and harmony through dialogue and fostering sustainable development, along with combatting poverty and welcoming returning refugees.Read more at:  SANA

          In his Easter greetings, Dr Sahloul describes how the Christian and Muslim faiths have been integrated harmoniously for centuries in Syrian life. He explains that in his native city of Homs, “the sound of Muslim call for prayer intertwines with the sound of church bells. Local TV and radio stations air Christian songs.           White Helmets shift from emergency rescues to helping Syria recover from wreckage of war

            14 April 2026.  Recognized for their heroism and self-sacrifice in Syria’s war, voluntarily rescuing people from the rubble of bombings, their role expanded to meet other emergencies. Now, as part of the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management in June 2025, they are helping rebuild the country.Read more at: SANA

            Emerging Leadership in a Changing World

              Signs of a new style of leadership are appearing around the world. As old systems fail to respond to accelerating change, people are looking for leaders who can move beyond age‑old patterns of established authority and embrace emerging realities. In many countries — including those that have endured profound upheaval — leaders are arising who emphasise social cohesion, inclusiveness, compassion, responsibility and building trust.

              Syrian returns home after nearly two decades to “Sing for Those Who are gone”

                27 March 2026.  Khater Dawa described his concert as a tribute to those who “have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice for Syria.” He said, “I left Syria in 2008, but Syria never left me,” adding that his music reflects experiences and aspirations connected with the Syrian Revolution.Read more at:  SANASee video at: YOUTUBE

                Sweida celebrates legacy of Druze leader who sacrificed for Syria’s freedom and national unity

                  26 March 2026.  Officials and community leaders in Sweida held a national event on the anniversary of the passing of Sultan Pasha al-Atrash, leader of the Great Syrian Revolt (against French colonialism), to honor his enduring legacy. Sweida’s Governor stated that its people historically supported a strong national identity and remain committed to Syria’s unity.Read more at:  SANA

                  President al-Sharaa joins emergency meeting on Middle East crisis with regional and European leaders

                    9 March 2026.  During the video conference called by European leaders, Syria’s president spoke of threats to regional stability and energy routes, calling the escalation of war “an existential threat to the entire region.” He said Damascus was coordinating with regional governments to establish a unified position.Read more at:  LEVANT24

                      20 February 2026.  Minister of Religious Endowments, Abu al-Khair Shukri, called for compassion to be practiced in daily relations in every sphere of life.                       New Syrian TV channel begins broadcasting under theme: “Syria Embraces All”

                        19 February 2026.  Al-Souriya TV describes itself as a family and community oriented channel designed to be a national platform that addresses social and economic issues, with audience participation.                         A Quiet Revolution

                          A quiet revolution is taking place in Syria today. Its source is an approach to national unity and peace rooted in inclusion, mutual dignity, and shared responsibility. This essay highlights a dramatic example of change in an area heavily conflicted for decades, where armed violence broke out last year several months after the new government came to power, and where police officers from groups once considered mortal enemies now serve side by side. Syria’s new leaders are modeling pathways to peace that speak to the challenges of human coexistence in a divided world.

                              SDF leader affirms ceasefire will be permanent, while citing remaining problems

                                14 February 2026.  During the Munich Security Conference, Minister al-Shaibani met with US and Kurdish leaders, discussing recent developments involving SDF’s military and administrative integration into the Syrian state.                                 Arts and culture festival opens under theme: “Guided by light, united by culture”

                                  9 February 2026.  The “Ishraqat” (Radiance) Festival brings together artists and audiences in a program of art exhibitions, performances, and seminars, supporting the recovery of Syria’s richly diverse heritage and fostering shared national identity.                                   President opens dialogue with Kurdish political leaders following ceasefire with SDF

                                    3 February 2026.  President al-Sharaa met with KNC leaders on implementing recent agreements to integrate Kurdish people into the state.
