Aga Khan Development Network expands commitment to the Syrian people

    5 January 2026.  The philanthropic development agency, which has allocated $320 million for projects in Syria over 25 years, will provide more than €100 million ($134 m) in new development projects, with an emphasis on sustainable development and renewable energy, while strengthening humanitarian support.Read more at:  SANA

    Syria’s critical housing needs and visions presented to fellow Arab housing ministers

      World Bank grant will help restore Syria’s power infrastructure

        12 December 2025.  With its first initiative in Syria for nearly forty years, the World Bank has agreed to support government efforts to improve electricity availability and strengthen the national economy. A grant of $146 million was announced in June to rehabilitate transmission lines, with further grants pending.Read more at:  SANA

        The Caesar Act is finally repealed, opening new vistas for investments in Syria

          8 December 2025.  Describing the decision as a ‘true day of victory” after a long and arduous campaign in the US Congress, Mohammed Alaa Ghanem of the Syrian American Council confirmed: “The clause repealing the Caesar Act is complete… no amendments can be made.           IMF team states Syria’s economy shows early signs of recovery and offers support

            18 November 2025.  The IMF announced a program of intensive cooperation with Syria, offering technical assistance to strengthen all aspects of the financial system. Immediate support will help shape the 2026 budget to meet the country’s essential needs while including support for the most vulnerable groups.Read more at:  LEVANT24
