Justice minister affirms Syria is actively pursuing accountability for war crimes

        Kurdish New Year, Nowruz (New Day), to be observed as national public holiday for first time in history

            A Quiet Revolution

              A quiet revolution is taking place in Syria today. Its source is an approach to national unity and peace rooted in inclusion, mutual dignity, and shared responsibility.               New ceasefire allows SDF 4 days to consider government’s plan for peaceful integration

                20 January 2026.  The SDF declared its “full commitment to the ceasefire” and said it was ready to “move forward with implementing” the 14-point agreement reached with the government on January 18th to end two weeks of clashes, though certain issues remained unresolved.Read more at: BBC NEWS

                Presidential decree declares Kurds inseparable element of nation, integral to the national fabric

                  17 January 2026.  Presidential Decree No.13 ends decades of Kurdish marginalization, recognizing their full citizenship and cultural rights and adopting Kurdish as a national language.                     Syria named ‘Country of the Year’ by distinguished British newspaper

                      19 December 2025.  The Economist named Syria ‘country of the year’ for 2025, viewing its progress as the greatest improvement by any nation by economic, political, and broader national indicators.
