Idlib town marks 11th anniversary of 1st liberation with renewed commitment to revolutionary values

    29 May 2026.  Residents of Ariha commemorated the first revolutionary victory in the ‘Battle for Idlib’ of 2015, amid the joy and security of Syria’s full liberation in 2024.     First Lady honors community leader, symbol of resilience, and rebuilder of Syria

      27 May 2026.  First Lady Latifa al-Droubi met with Samira al-Qaddour, an Idlib school principal known for her civic work and resilience during the war, when she was displaced to camps for anti-regime protests.       Ancient site of prized mosaics from Roman and Byzantine eras now under restoration

        26 May 2026.  Conservation teams are working to preserve Syria’s archaeological heritage of mosaic floors and wall panels dating from the 2nd-6th centuries AD.                 26 November 2025.  This inside story unveils the years of planning, strategizing, rigorous training and discipline, coordination of military factions, plus participation of local ministries and citizenry, which led to the capture of Damascus.                 Al-Sharaa said to fellow Syrians in post-UN talk: “You astonished the world.”

                  27 September 2025.  President Ahmad al-Sharaa chose Idlib, where the movement that brought an end to tyranny was born, for his first speech after returning from his UN engagements. Declaring that Syria had “reclaimed its historical place among nations,” he praised Syrians’ wartime sacrifices for regaining the nation’s dignity and pride. Noting the universal support received for Syria’s territorial integrity, stability and unity, he stated: “Our strength lies in our unity, and unity is mercy while division is torment.”Read more at: LEVANT24

                  President declares Syria unbreakable

                    23 August 2025.  President Ahmad al-Sharaa declared in a recent speech in Idlib, that Syria’s unity is non-negotiable, that partition is not an option and that attempts to form internal cantons within the country are “impossible.” He also stated that international efforts to weaken Syria internally were “unrealistic.” The president underscored the importance of reconciliation efforts in Suwayda and Daraa and affirmed that possession of arms would be limited to state institutions.Read more at:  LEVANT24

                    The story of Syria’s revolution told by artists, poets and writers

                      20 August 2025.  The “Gate of the Sun,” a two-day cultural festival in Damascus held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, spotlighted art, poetry, and storytelling from Idlib during revolution. It featured 70 paintings by 18 artists created under siege and bombardment, presenting a visual record of the struggle for freedom and honoring martyrs and voices of resistance.                       A new chapter of Syrian life begins with dialogue

                        13 August 25.  Honouring his commitment to engage in direct dialogue with the Syrian people and listen to their concerns, President Ahmad al-Sharaa met with community leaders and officials in Idleb. He acknowledged Idleb for its pioneering of institutions that form the new Damascus government, calling it “a fundamental pillar for launching the project of a modern national state in Syria.” A wide range of questions and concerns from participants elicited commitments from the president and information about plans for the country.Read more at: SANA
