President oversees emergency flood response and announces new reconstruction in eastern Syria

    30 May 2026.  President al-Sharaa arrived in Deir Ezzor with a large delegation of ministers to oversee response efforts to the Euphrates flood and announce new reconstruction projects.     Syria makes commitment to global health cooperation at World Health Assembly

      20 May 2026.  In a video address to the assembly, President al-Sharaa said: “I address you today from Damascus at a moment when the world faces challenges requiring a shared international resolve that prioritizes human health and lays the foundation for a more secure and equitable future,” stating Syria is committed to global health security.Read more at: LEVANT 24Watch video at: YOUTUBE

      First national program is launched to aid vulnerable families through nutrition

        18 May 2026.  Syria’s Social Affairs and Labor ministry and the World Food Program opened the “T-Anmu” (I Grow) initiative, supported by France and Switzerland, aimed at building an integrated, just and sustainable social protection system with a focus on Syrian families with malnourished children.Read more at: SANA

        Large numbers of displaced families have returned home while UNHCR and local Syrian NGO’s provide emergency aid to those in camps

          27 January 2026.  The UN Refugee Agency reports tens of thousands of families in northeastern Syria were displaced by recent hostilities between SDF and government forces. UNHCR is providing aid to those still in camps with local partners. Of 100,000 people displaced from Aleppo, 80% have returned home.Read more at:  ENABBALADI
