Ministry of Culture honors historian for documenting decade of revolution’s history

    12 December 2025.  Tamer Turkmane was honored for a personal initiative that became the largest archive in the nation capturing the events, sacrifices and struggles of the Syrian revolution.       World Bank grant will help restore Syria’s power infrastructure

        12 December 2025.  With its first initiative in Syria for nearly forty years, the World Bank has agreed to support government efforts to improve electricity availability and strengthen the national economy. A grant of $146 million was announced in June to rehabilitate transmission lines, with further grants pending.Read more at:  SANA

        “Syrian Women Towards Peace” – landmark forum on women’s role in recovery

          11 December 2025.  Sponsored by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the forum aims to empower women as leaders in civil dialogue and peacebuilding, the foundation of stability and national recovery.             The Caesar Act is finally repealed, opening new vistas for investments in Syria

              8 December 2025.  Describing the decision as a ‘true day of victory” after a long and arduous campaign in the US Congress, Mohammed Alaa Ghanem of the Syrian American Council confirmed: “The clause repealing the Caesar Act is complete… no amendments can be made.               Liberation celebrations ignite in Umayyad Square starting days before the anniversary

                7 December 2025.  Several days before the anniversary of Assad’s overthrow, people began to celebrate their freedom in Damascus. “Everything is better, and every month we’re seeing new things.                   6 December 2025.  During his first year in office, President al-Sharaa visited numerous world leaders, signalling Syria’s return to Arab and global diplomacy.                     5 December 2025.  Tens of thousands of people from Hama and around the country gathered to mark the overthrow of the brutal regime that caused extreme suffering there for decades, including a major massacre under Hafiz Assad in 1982.                     UN Security Council makes landmark visit to Damascus on 1st anniversary of the new Syria

                      4 December 2025.  In a rare consensus, all fifteen members of the UN Security Council agreed on the visit to Damascus, the first in 14 years.                       Syria’s energy renaissance continues with launch of major power plant

                        3 December 2025.  In less than a year since liberation, Syria has launched four gas power plants and many renewable energy projects, forming a solid foundation for the country’s development. The plant in Deir Ezzor will stabilize the energy grid and be “a station for revival, development, and the spread of light across Syria,” said the energy minister.Read more at:  SANA

                            Residents raise $2.8 million in show of solidarity to restore their town

                              2 December 2025.  As with similar initiatives across Syria where citizens are partnering with the state to rebuild, residents of Jdeidet Artouz raised substantial funds to meet the town’s essential needs and upgrade its infrastructure.                               Syria’s restraint toward Israel’s provocations has positive consequences
