    Aleppo ceasefire declared with Kurdish fighters granted safe withdrawal

      11 January 2026.  A ceasefire mediated by the US, after days of intense fighting, allowed SDF fighters to safely leave Aleppo and enabled the peaceful evacuation of Kurdish civilians, wounded, and dead.
