The Syrian president called Suwayda’s violence “a dangerous turning point,” stating the clashes “nearly spiralled out of control,” and crediting the state’s intervention for calming tensions. He blamed Israel for escalating the crisis and praised the US, along with Turkey, Jordan and neighbouring countries, for brokering the ceasefire. Affirming that Suwayda “remains an integral part of the Syrian state,” he added, “the Druze community forms a fundamental pillar of Syria’s national fabric.”
