Wendy Pearlman, a Harvard-trained scholar and professor at Chicago’s Northwestern University, spent 14 years studying the Syrian revolution through testimonies of refugees, migrants, and members of the global Syrian community. She published two books documenting the experiences of revolution, exile, and displacement. Visiting Syria to amplify her research following Assad’s removal, she highlights the beauty of the people, their rich culture and hospitality.
